Royal St. Lucia Police Force to meet with chamber members

The Chamber Law and Order Committee has convened an urgent meeting with the Royal St. Lucia Police Force to discuss the recent spate of armed robberies affecting the business community on the island. The recent crime wave over the last month, has been a cause of serious concern among the Business Community, resulting in the Chamber calling earlier for increased police presence in the City and its environs as well as the Chamber recommending some specific actions by businesses to safeguard their employees and customers.
On Thursday August 12th 2021 at 10:00 am a virtual meeting will be hosted in collaboration with the Royal St. Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), to discuss the issue of crime, with particular focus on the spate of robberies.
This Forum will also provide members with greater insight on the plans of the RSLPF to address the issue.

Chair of the Chamber Law and Order Committee Irvin Springer says “the Law and Order Committee will in the near future bring together the Chief Security Officers of Chamber Member Companies to share best practice and to see how they can work closer together and with the Police to combat this scourge”. Springer also noted that “We intend in short order to mount a campaign for members of the Business Community to support the CCTV Surveillance agenda of the RSLPF to broaden the scope of coverage now provided by CCTV cameras in Castries and the rest of the country”.
