Ready and Reigning, a Woman Calypso Monarch for 2026
In what could be described as an act of serendipity—or simply the triumph of woman power—Ready emerged victorious at the National Calypso Monarch Competition.
The Sab was teeming with talent on the night of Saturday July 11 as ten finalists took to the stage for the final showdown. When the scores were tallied, the night belonged to Nahoma “Ready” Jn Baptiste, whose performances of “Sign Up” and “Micoud” earned her the coveted Calypso Monarch crown.

The exciting weekend of competition continues with the Junior Parade of the Bands and the Republic Bank Panorama Competition on Sunday 12, July, and King and Queen of the Bands on Monday, 13 July.
