18 Calypsonians Secure Spots in Calypso Monarch Semi-Finals

The quarter final round of the Calypso Monarch Competition is concluded, paving the way for the highly anticipated semi-finals. Eighteen (18) calypsonians have earned their spot in the semi-final round and will vie for a coveted spot in the finals when the semi-final round takes place on Sunday, June 28th at the National Cultural Centre.

The quarter-final round, which drew hundreds of patrons across the island, showcased the depth of Saint Lucian calypso talent. Performers delivered compelling presentations rooted in current affairs, national pride, social commentary, and witty satire, captivating audiences with their creativity and lyrical prowess. Selected from a talented field representing the island’s four calypso tents, the semi-finalists will now continue their quest for the 2026 Calypso Monarch title. At the Semi-final stage of competition, nine calypsonians will be selected to compete against the defending monarch: Dezral, for the 2026 Calypso Monarch title. Calypso Semi-Finals will be held on Sunday, June 28th at the National Cultural Centre, from 4 pm.  Advance tickets for are only $40 and $60.00 at the door.
