After 5 months of intense preparation, managed by Events Saint Lucia, Tyler Theophane, has left for the Miss World Pageant in Puerto Rico which will take place on December 16th, 2021.

Since winning the Title of Miss Saint Lucia World in May – Tyler has been engaged in an intense program of training and development in preparation for her participation in this contest.

Tyler’s preparation for the Miss World Pageant focused heavily on personal development which included elocution, interview techniques, vocal training, Spanish and Creole language classes, as well as the culture and heritage of Saint Lucia. She also benefitted from fitness and nutrition, skin care, and massage therapy. Her promotional activities included the Talk to Tyler radio series on The Wave and her Head-to-Head Interviews with key partners.

As a Miss World Contestant, Tyler was required to undertake a philanthropic project through the Beauty with a Purpose initiative, the brainchild of Julia Morley – Chairperson of the Miss World organization. Beauty with a Purpose is also the tagline for Miss World.

Tyler’s signature project is the building of a house for Jessica Gaillard, a 42-year-old single mother of two sons, aged 10 and 21 years. Both boys suffer from developmental delays. ECSL worked with the Social Services Division of the Ministry of Equity to identify and select a beneficiary. Through the Beauty with a Purpose project, a 3-bedroom dwelling house is being constructed for Jessica and her boys, on 5500 square feet of land provided by Invest Saint Lucia at Fond Daisy, Pierrot West in Vieux Fort. Lara’s Construction provided a backhoe for site clearance. The cost of building materials was subsidized by True Value Building & Hardware Supplies as well as Brice & Company with FDL Consult Inc. making a cash donation toward the procurement of materials. Saint Lu Metal and Plastics donated doors and windows for the project. Company representative Keeghan Patrick said Saint Lu Metal & Plastics is more than happy to be associated with such a worthy initiative, as it is in line with the company’s ethos of “giving back to the community.” Labour was provided by the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation through KAW Construction. Harris Paints worked with Tyler to formulate her unique colour-blend called Tyler’s Blush. They have supplied several gallons of Tyler’s Blush to paint the new house. Rayneau Construction has provided all plumbing materials needed for the build. Tyler joined ECSL Staff and other partners for a Koudmen in the early stages of the construction. In true St. Lucian style, music, food and laughter made the work so much lighter for all.

Over the last five months, Events Saint Lucia – the Official and Exclusive Holder of the Miss World Franchise through the Ministry of Tourism – has worked closely with key partners in preparing Tyler for the Miss World Pageant. Baywalk Condos has been a key partner from inception having been the official residence of Miss Saint Lucia World since July. Other key strategic partners include Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA), Export Saint Lucia, Citizenship by Investment (CIP), and the Cultural Development Foundation (CDF), Dermalogics Clinic, The Wave, Massy Stores, FLOW, and LUCELEC.
