National Secondary Schools Calypso & Soca Competition 2026
Mindoo Phillip Park came alive on Friday, June 5, 2026, as nineteen (19) secondary schools competed in the National Secondary Schools Calypso & Soca Competition, delivering an afternoon of outstanding performances and youthful talent.
In the Soca category, Fire Kay of Corinth Secondary School captured the title with an electrifying rendition of “Ah Bon Ti Taytay La,” earning the admiration of judges and patrons alike.
The Calypso crown went to Zizi of Sir Ira Simmons Secondary School, whose powerful performance of “Zizi and I” secured the school’s victory in the competition.

The young performers were celebrated with sponsor-provided gifts, while their respective schools received cash awards in recognition of their achievements.
The excitement continues with the inaugural Schools Panorama Competition, the next event on the Lucian Junior Carnival calendar, scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026. Six (6) steelpan bands representing eight (8) schools will compete for top honours in what promises to be another exciting showcase of youth talent and creativity.
