Exquisite new designs on the runway

Authentic and original Saint Lucian creativity is set to take centre stage next weekend, with the staging of the 5th Annual fashion showcase entitled, “That’s My Bag” from Christy Creations. The popular unique fashion event takes place on Saturday 6th April 2019, at Sandals Halcyon, from 8:00 pm.
“That’s My Bag!” is an annual fashion showcase that features the latest exclusive designs from award-winning Saint Lucian Designer, Christine Samuel. At the showcase the fashion and art loving public in Saint Lucia are always treated to an entertaining spectacle of artistic talent, creativity and beauty, as live models strut the runway giving an exclusive viewing of Christine’s newest designs.
This 2019 edition dubbed “Hats off! Hi 5! That’s My Bag 5!” is being produced under Christine’s Christy Creations brand. The show will feature new exclusive designs of original ladies bags and clothing, all designed, hand-crafted, and hand-painted by the talented Christine Samuel. An additional surprise feature in this show will be the public launch of a new line of eclectic and beautiful bamboo jewelry created by Christine. The jewelry reflects a colourful creole aesthetic that will surely enhance her already impressive portfolio in the local creative industry.
The artist/designer Christine Samuel is a retired teacher of theatre arts who has received much national acclaim for her work as a dancer, dance tutor and choreographer. She is now using her other artistic skills in the visual arts to create original designer products that reflect vibrant Saint Lucian/Caribbean artistry and beauty. Her diverse range of individual guaranteed one-of-a-kind ladies bags in particular, are highly sought after by locals and visitors alike. Many of her products can be found on sale at all Sea Island Cotton shops and at Howelton Estate (formerly Caribelle Batik).
“Hat’s Off! Hi 5! That’s My Bag 5!” will also feature performances by Calypso Monarch T.C. Brown who will be the special guest of Christy Creations on the night. Sounds will be provided by the ever popular Dr. Beat. Tickets for this exclusive fashion event cost $40, and are available in the Baywalk Mall at the Henna Store, and the Sea Island Cotton Shop; and in the city of Castries from CATWALK on Brazil Street, and from Shermac at KOUTIWЀZ.
