Digicel through the Daren Sammy Foundation continues to equip our future leaders with academic scholarships valued at $20,000.
Digicel St. Lucia continues to exemplify its devotion to youth development & education by partnering with the Daren Sammy Foundation on its annual scholarship program which assisted 20 students with disbursements and academic support.
The Daren Sammy foundation established in 2016 not only provides cash disbursements to students but also academic support where necessary. Students must be between the ages 9 & 17, from a low- income household in addition to being a member of a school or community sports team or extra-curricular activity, hold and maintain an academic grade of 75% and above to qualify.
Kareem Louis, Senior Marketing Executive Digicel St. Lucia said: “Digicel is thrilled to continue to support and partner with the Daren Sammy Foundation. Digicel is passionate about the education of our students, our future leaders and look forward to any opportunity to make a difference in their lives. We understand after this pandemic, parents are still facing financial challenges and we hope through our contribution we are able to make things just a little easier. We vow to continue this partnership and hope to increase our contribution in the future.”
Education is fundamental to a country’s development and Digicel will continue to make its contribution to remain invested in the success of our students as they are our future.
