City fire in Wilton’s Yard

At approximately 10:40 pm the fire service was called to put out a fire at Wilton’s Yard in Castries. However upon their arrival the structure where the fire started was completely a flame causing the fire to spread to another building like wildfire.
The firemen were face with some difficulty with insufficient water. Also, The fire hydrants on the Chaussee road seem to be already in a drought.
As a result at least three houses were destroyed by the fire. Occupants were unable to savage anything. The fire service had to called for back up from the Gros Islet and Babonneau fire service, at that time residents of Wilton’s Yard tried to assist the fire fighters while other run out to seek safety with their loved ones. On-lookers gazed with disbelief and sadness as April 18th will be the day before Good Friday that will be remembered as dreadful
