People, if we go out in public we need to wear masks. The rise of COVID cases has been found to be much slower in Asian countries versus western countries. There are certainly many explanations for this such as aggressive testing and using technology for contact tracing but one thing stands out; wearing masks.
Basic science research has demonstrated that droplet spread is reduced when masks are worn. We know that COVID is spread mainly by droplets. We also know that not all persons with COVID will be sick yet they can spread COVID to you if you are close. If they are wearing a mask we believe the chances of them infecting you is much less.
So wear a mask and advise that all around you wear a mask. Masks can be store-bought or homemade. Use a bandanna if you don’t have a mask until you can get one.
