Kwéyòl Poetry Writing Competition

The imporatance of the creole language and its influence on local culture is expected to be highlighted through artistic delivery with the launching of the 2019 Kwéyòl Poetry Writing Competition”.
The competition forms part of Saint Lucia’s commemoration of International Mother Language Day (21st February) and World Poetry Day (21st March) and will be held under the theme “Nou tout abò: voyaj nou, destinasyon nou”.
Secretary – General National Commission for UNESCO Marcia Symphorien commented on the expected impact of the competition
Ms Symphorien further outline the expected gormat of the competition.
The competition will close on Thursday 21st March 2019 (World Poetry Day).
Format: All poems MUST be written in Kwéyòl Length: Junior: Up to 20 Lines | Senior: Up to 40 Lines
