BRIDGETOWN, Barbados \u2013 The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC\u00ae) wishes to advise that the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination\u00ae (CAPE\u00ae), Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate\u00ae (CSEC\u00ae) and Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence\u00ae (CCLSC\u00ae) examinations will be administered in their original format; that is, for CAPE\u00ae and CSEC\u00ae Papers 01, 02 and 031\/School-Based Assessments (SBAs) or Paper 032 for private candidates, and for CCSLC\u00ae, Papers 01 and 031\/School-Based Assessments. CXC\u00ae will maintain the strategy of 100% SBA moderation across all centres, for all subjects in 2022.<\/p>\n
Examination dates are as follows:
\n\u2022 May\/June CAPE\u00ae examinations: 2 May – 10 June 2022
\n\u2022 May\/June CSEC\u00ae: 2 May \u2013 3 June 2022;
\n\u2022 CCSLC\u00ae examinations: 6 \u2013 9 June 2022; and
\n\u2022 CPEA\u00ae examinations: 27 \u2013 28 May 2022.<\/p>\n
Caribbean Vocational Qualification* (CVQ*) assessment will be conducted between May and July
\n2022. Dates will be determined by individual participating territories.<\/p>\n

CXC\u00ae has once again put concessions in place to support students in light of the ongoing COVID-19
\npandemic. These include:
\n\u2022 School Based Assessments (SBAs) \u2013 The reductions to SBA Requirements made in 2021, as
\nmuch as 50 per cent in some subjects, were maintained.
\n\u2022 Option to Defer \u2013 The deferral strategy has been extended for use any time prior to the
\nadministration of a subject. Candidates will be able to defer to January or June 2023,
\nwhenever the subject is administered.
\nAs we look ahead to 2023, CXC\u00ae continues to work with regional Ministries of Education on its digital
\ntransformation strategy. Plans are currently underway to begin administering all Paper 01
\nexaminations electronically in 2023.
