CARICOM<\/a> Committee of Ambassadors, Secretary-General LaRocque apprised him of his role in ensuring that integration has a greater impact on the lives of CARICOM people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\u201cAs a member you will be expected to\nassist in advancing the implementation of Community decisions at the national\nlevel\u2026 providing the necessary link between the regional and the national,\u201d the\nSecretary-General stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Gill asserted that Grenada\u2019s role and\ninfluence in CARICOM has been \u201cdistinct and unambiguous\u201d, further noting that the\nvision articulated by Heads of Government in 1989 remained relevant to date. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Gill, CARICOM remains a channel\nthrough which Member States are bolstered in the regional and international\ncommunity by the positions taken as a collective on matters of tremendous\nimportance to our development as a region.\n\nHe underscored the need for ordinary CARICOM citizens to feel the impact of the decisions made in\ntrade, free movement, and climate change, noting that maintaining a flow of\ninformation to CARICOM nationals is necessary to ensure nationals do not feel\nmarginalised by an institution which was established to benefit them.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
