Tribe of Twel is the 2024 Band of the Year

Lucian Carnival 2024 climaxed with the national parade of the bands on Monday, July 15, and Tuesday, July 16. A total of 9 bands participated in this year’s national Parade of the Bands and 7 in the J’Ouvert Parade.

The Carnival Planning and Management Committee held a press briefing on Wednesday, 17 July 2024 to announce the winners of this year’s cultural celebration. During the briefing, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ronald Phillip, gave an overview of the festival from the standpoint of safety and security. He noted that Lucian Carnival 2024, was incident-free and thanked the various stakeholder agencies for their support. He also added that the Police Forde was already considering measures for a more efficient follow of traffic for 2025.

Public Relations Manager, of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Geraine Georges, also noted that preliminary figures for visitor arrivals for Lucian Carnival are 18,000, setting a new record for the period.
