St. Lucia's Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Energy Completes Road Works at Mongiraud

The Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Energy has completed road works at Mongiraud on Saturday, September 9th and Sunday, September 10th, 2017.

This comes following an alarming observation regarding the spillage of concrete on a number of inclines on the island’s road network. Therefore, the Department kindly reiterates to all parties involved in this unlawful act to cease from this practice, as it poses a hazard to vehicular traffic and pedestrians.

BVI Prisoners to be Safety Transferred to Saint Lucia following Passage of Hurricane Irma

Local security officials as well as the British Government will ensure prisoners brought to Saint Lucia will be safely transferred and not pose a risk to Saint Lucia’s population.

The British Virgin Islands and Turks and Caicos are facing dire circumstances with securing prisoners following the destruction of some prisons by Hurricane Irma and it is believed that over 100 criminals are on the loose in those countries.

Former Administration of St Jude Hospital Under Fire for Failure to Make Progress in its Rebulding Efforts

The Chairman on the Board of the St Jude Hospital has blasted the former administration over its failure to make any significant progress on the rebuilding of St Jude Hospital, eight years after the facility was gutted by fire.

Dr Ulric Mondesir says after thousands of dollars in donor funds for the project, following the September 2009 fire, the only ones to have benefitted to date are the contractors on the hospital project.

LUCELEC Team Head to St. Kitts to Assist With Restoration Effort Following Hurricane Irma.

A team comprising two staff and three contractors from Lucelec have travelled to St Kitts to assist with the restoration effort following the passage of Hurricane Irma.

The recovery effort is being coordinated by Carilec, through its disaster response team, of which Lucelec is a member.
