Officials of Women’s Support Shelter Comment on Latest Incident of Domestic Violence
A report of domestic violence that has left one woman with non fatal injuries and her attacker dead, has caught the attention of officials at the Women’s Support Shelter.

Shelter manager Sylvie Edward has strongly urged victims of domestic violence to get out of abusive relations and seek the requisite support services available for both victim and perpetrators.

Police News
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 33 year old, Nathan Chassang also known as “Shawn” of Monchy, Gros-Islet.

According to reports, Chassang allegedly consumed a poisonous substance on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 about 5:00 p.m. at the Monchy Beach after allegedly stabbing his common law partner, Davia Hippolyte in Monchy earlier that day.

NCPC Launches Latest Initiative
The National Competitiveness and Productivity Council (NCPC) officially launched its latest initiative on Monday, April 18, 2016. The ProCom Challenge, as it is known, was launched at the Government Information Service studio at Hewanorra House in Vigie. The ProCom Challenge invites businesses to apply for co-financing up to EC$100,000.00 in selected thematic areas, including energy efficiency; compliance with local, regional, and international standards; reduction of operational costs; and improving business productivity.

Announcement: Augier Combined School to Reopen this Week
Parents of students attending the Augier Combined School are informed that the school will reopen on Monday April 25th, 2016 and not Wednesday April 20th, 2016, as was agreed at the meeting last week.

The Ministry of Education had to delay the re-opening of the school due to ongoing works being undertaken by the Ministries of Health and Agriculture and Invest St. Lucia to relocate ALL animal farms in the vicinity of the Augier Combined School.
