Ministry Launches Lucian Culinary Adventure
The Ministry of Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries through the Saint Lucia Tourism Development Programme will be launching a new tour package called the Lucian Culinary Adventure under the Heritage Tours Brand.

The tour features a practical session designed to give visitors an authentic cooking lesson and experience of Saint Lucian cuisine. Visitors will also get the opportunity to participate in authentic and traditional dances and move to the local rhythms. The tour, Lucian Culinary Adventure will be hosted at one of the island’s Heritage Sites - Pigeon Island National Park.

Haitian Authorities Pledged to Safeguard Rights of Haitians
Haitian officials say they have made a breakthrough with their advocacy to challenge a Constitutional Court ruling last year, that rendered hundreds of people of Haitian decent in the Dominican Republic, stateless.

Reports suggest that Dominican authorities pledged to enact measures to safeguard the basic rights of Haitians and their descendants living in that country.

Both countries noted that dialogue around this divisive issue, held this week, was conducted in a tone of mutual respect and that it was "frank, constructive and enlightening."

Sean Matthew, General Manager of SLASPA, Resigns
Sean Matthew, General Manager/CEO for the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) has submitted his resignation to the Chairman and Port Council. The Resignation letter was submitted on November 30th 2013 and will take effect on March 02, 2014. The Chairman and Port Council in a meeting held today, January 8, 2014 have accepted Mr. Matthew’s resignation.

Mr. Sean Matthew joined SLASPA in 1987 as the Assistant Engineer in Marine and moved up the ranks to Senior Engineer, then Chief Engineer, to Deputy General Manager (Operations and Development), until he was appointed General Manager /CEO of SLASPA in 2007.
