 Saint Lucia to Celebrate 38th Anniversary of Independence
Minister with responsibility for Culture and Local Government Senator Fortuna Belrose has called on all Saint Lucians to continue to embrace activities for Saint Lucia’s 38th Anniversary of Independence which culminates on Wednesday February 22nd 2017.

On Sunday February 19th, the Government of Saint Lucia hosted a successful “Prayer, Praise and Worship” session at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground with persons from several different Religious denominations in attendance.

Bay Gardens Resorts Discontinues Using Expanded Polystyrene Products Throughout its Properties
The Green Globe certified resort chain, Bay Gardens Resorts has discontinued the use of all Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) products throughout its properties.

Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) products are very harmful to the environment as they are manufactured from non-renewable fossil fuels and synthetic chemicals which cannot be recycled or reused.  Studies have shown that animals sometimes mistake EPS for food which can kill them.  In the case of turtles and fish not only can they not digest it, but the foam could contain poisons, absorbed from contaminants floating in the water.

Gilroy Gaston has been accused of causing the death of Yves Renee during a police operation in Marigot last month.
