Marigot Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting of twenty-three year old Contius Alexander of Coolie Town, Anse La Raye on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 about 11:45 a.m.

Reports indicate that Alexander had gone to pick mangoes when a pick-up van with two men in the cab stopped near him. One of the individuals pointed a firearm at him and a struggled ensued between the two.

Police Confirms Infant Death as Homicide

A post mortem performed on the body of an eight-month-old baby has confirmed the death as a homicide according to police.

The baby was discovered dead by her mother at their home in George Charles Boulevard, Marchand, Castries late Tuesday afternoon.

Leeward Island Airline Pilots Association Issues Ultimatum to LIAT for Payments of Outstanding Wages to Members

In a strongly worded message to its membership today, the Leeward Island Airline Pilots Association (LIALPA) has given its employer LIAT an ultimatum for payments of outstanding wages to all of its members.

Mincing no words, President of LIALPA, Carl Burke wrote, “In the event that LIAT fails to pay pilot salaries by mid-night of May 24, 2017, the Executive Council will be executing a mandate received from the floor by directing protest action by all permanent pilots or full members of LIALPA.”

Locals Saddened by News of Manchester Suicide Bombing

A well known artist with close ties to England has commented on the Manchester suicide bombing, describing the incident as tragic but not surprising.

The Islamic State terror group has claimed responsibility for the Manchester suicide bombing that killed 22 people - including an eight-year-old girl - in an explosion that tore through fans leaving an Ariana Grande pop concert in Manchester.
