St Lucia’s Queen of Soca Nicole David has called for strong measures to be taken against the authors of a fake news article that has gone viral.

The story which was published by an online news source--Houston Chronicle TV.com, on Saturday, ran the headline “Soca Music Artiste Arrested at JFK Airport With Cocaine Tapped to Her Legs”.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a forty-nine (49) year old resident of Pierrot Vieux Fort, Moses Clovis also known as ‘The Mole’.

Officers attached to the Vieux Fort Police Station received a report of a suspicious death, about 11:55 a.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Boriel Beach, Pierrot.

St. Lucia to Observe African Liberation Day

St Lucia joins people of African descent around the world in the global observance of African Liberation Day on May 25th.

Also known as ALD, the day was founded in 1958 by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah on the occasion of the First Conference of Independent States held in Accra, Ghana and attended by eight independent African states.
